A methodology for the assessment of compound sea level and rainfall impact on urban drainage networks in a coastal city under climate change

This study seeks to investigate how stormwater drainage systems in coastal cities respond climate change terms of simultaneous sea level rise and rainfall. 7.5 years recorded rainfall data the city Trelleborg Sweden were used generate projections future events based on emission scenario RCP8.5. Twelve scenarios formulated represent rain today’s (reference)- climate. Future was computed using regional model together with Delta Change Method. Sea-related represented two variables, namely an average storm surges. The calculated reflect seasonal variation a second-order Fourier analysis whilst raw gauge capture variables then scaled surges area. performance system simulated MIKE Urban 1D results expressed through indicators, number flooded nodes flood frequency. this reveal tipping point is likely be found between 2075 2100, after which become major driver for overwhelmed system. It also that pluvial floods may more frequent during winters as time progresses. has great implication when deciding adaptation measures.
